A person who is an adult can be described as a person or animal who is at complete growth.The biological definition of the word means the animal has reached sexual maturity, and therefore capable of reproducing. In the context of humans, the term "adult" can have meanings that are related to legal or social ideas. As opposed to a "non-adult" or "minor" legally adult is at the point of majority. They are considered to be independent, self-sufficient, and responsible. They are also known as a "major". 18 years is considered an adult legal age but this definition can differ according to the nation, lawful rights or psychological development.

Adulthood is the time that a person has reached full maturation in both mental and physical development. Adulthood, as generally understood, begins at the age of 20 or 21. It is generally believed that middle age starts at 40 or so years old, then it will be approximately 60 years. There are three primary stages of adulthood the early years of adulthood (18 to mid-30s), middle adulthood (mid-30s until mid-60s) and then late adulthood (mid-60s to end of life). At the point we are in the age of early adulthood (20 to the early 40s) the physical development is completed, though our weight and height could increase a bit. The physical abilities of our bodies are at their peak when we are young adults. It includes strength of muscles, reflex time, sensors, and the heart's function.
